Celebrating community and craftsmanship

We are honored to participate in this year’s Grand Valley Parade of Homes. The event showcases inspired architecture, thoughtful interiors, and the outstanding craft of our local community. It is a privilege to be part of it and to say thank you to the builders, homeowners, organizers, volunteers, and everyone touring.

If you are visiting the Parade you may see our video in partnership with Monarch HVAC inside select homes. The video highlights how local solar and home comfort can work together for a better living experience.

SolarWorks focuses on long term reliability and clear planning from design through post installation support. Our friends at Monarch HVAC share how right sized systems and sealed duct design help homes stay comfortable through summer and winter. You will also see a closer look at modern home energy storage with Enphase battery backup, which we explore below.

Enphase battery backup explained

An Enphase Energy System pairs rooftop solar with modular IQ batteries and a smart app. The system stores daytime production for use later and can supply critical circuits when the grid goes down. Each battery unit contains multiple bidirectional IQ microinverters that manage the flow of energy with fine control and high reliability.

Why homeowners like it

Resilience during outages. The system can keep essential loads running when the grid has a bad day.
Everyday savings. Store solar you would otherwise export and use it when household demand is higher.
Simple control. The mobile app shows what you are making, using, and saving in real time and lets you adjust preferences.
Safety by design. The batteries use lithium iron phosphate chemistry and operate at low voltage with a distributed architecture.
Longevity. The video highlights a fifteen-year warranty with coverage up to eight thousand cycles.

How it works in practice

● Solar makes energy during the day.
● The IQ batteries store surplus energy.
● The Enphase app prioritizes where that energy goes based on your selected mode such as backup, self consumption, or time of use.
● During an outage the system forms a microgrid for your home and continues to power selected circuits.
● When the grid returns the system transitions smoothly back to normal operation.

The Integrated Load Controller can sequence large appliances to protect your battery reserve during an outage. You can allow the app to automate decisions or make manual choices. This helps extend backup time and keeps essentials online longer.

Start with the capacity that fits your essentials today and expand later. The modular design lets you add more IQ batteries as your needs change. Because each unit has multiple microinverters the system continues operating even if one component needs service.

Thank you to everyone who makes the Parade of Homes possible. We are proud to be part of the Grand Valley community. We will be participating again next weekend and look forward to seeing more of you.
